Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Cabinet on Saturday approved five significant proposals, including the proposal related to the 2026–27 State Budget, during its 36th meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi at Lok Seva Bhawan.
Briefing the media after the meeting, Chief Secretary Anu Garg said that the Finance Department’s proposal concerning the 2026–27 Budget was among the key decisions cleared by the Cabinet. The detailed provisions of the Budget will be presented during the upcoming session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly.
Apart from the Budget proposal, the Cabinet approved one proposal from the Labour and Employees’ State Insurance Department. Three other proposals placed by the Water Resources Department also received approval.
All four departmental proposals, along with the Budget-related proposal, were cleared unanimously in the meeting held at the Conference Hall of Lok Seva Bhawan.
The decisions taken in the Cabinet are expected to shape the State’s fiscal planning for the next financial year while also advancing measures in labour welfare and water resource management.
