Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow warning for dense fog in several districts of Odisha, with the alert remaining in force till February 18, 2026.
According to the IMD’s mid-day weather bulletin, dense fog is very likely to occur at isolated pockets in Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Bhadrak, Puri, Khordha, Dhenkanal and Cuttack districts on February 17. In addition, shallow to moderate fog is likely during the early morning hours at one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati and Angul districts.
On February 18, dense fog is very likely at isolated places in Kendrapara, Khordha, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Ganjam and Gajapati districts under the yellow warning. Shallow to moderate fog conditions are also expected during the early morning hours at one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Angul and Dhenkanal districts.
The IMD has advised commuters and motorists to exercise caution during early morning travel due to reduced visibility.
