Sundargarh: Rourkela Police have busted an online betting racket by conducting simultaneous raids across various police stations in the city.
According to reports, raids were carried out at multiple locations in Plantside, Uditnagar, Bondamunda, and Raghunathpalli police station areas, based on a tip-off about illegal betting linked to the ongoing ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
The racket was allegedly involved in illicit money transactions. Over Rs 20 lakh cash has been seized so far.
Investigations are ongoing into other financial transactions, bank accounts, and digital data.
So far, five persons are being questioned, and further raids are planned to identify others involved.
