Sub-Collector’s Swift Move Helps Stranded Girls Take Matric Exam In Dhenkanal

Bhubaneswar: In a heartwarming display of empathy, Dhenkanal’s Kamakhyanagar Sub-Collector Dinamani Nayak went the extra mile to ensure two girl students reached their Matric examination centre on time.

As per reports, the girls, who had travelled from Bhuban centre, were stranded at a bus stand with no transport in sight, threatening to derail their chance to appear for the exam. It was former Zilla Parishad member Krushna Chandra Sahu who spotted the duo, admit cards in hand, looking anxious at the Kamakhyanagar bus stand.

Sensing their distress, he rushed them to the Sub-Collector’s residence, where Nayak sprang into action. Without hesitation, he arranged his official vehicle to transport the girls to Bhaniram High School in Dhenkanal town, 35 kilometres away.

In the meantime, he also informed the Dhenkanal District Education Officer about the matter over phone.

Thanks to Nayak’s swift intervention, the students arrived at the exam centre at 9:35 am, just in time to take their test.

The state government’s decision to allow students who had discontinued their studies to appear directly for the Matric examination through the State Open School system has given many a second chance. For these two girls who are appearing High School Certificate examination through the State Open School system, Nayak’s timely help ensured they didn’t miss this opportunity.
