Bhubaneswar: The Special Vigilance Court in Balasore convicted Suresh Chandra Das, former headmaster of Achutananda Nodal UP School, Rasalpur, and Govinda Behera, ex-VEC president of the school, in a corruption case.
The duo was found guilty of misappropriating government funds meant for the Sarba Sikhya Abhijan (SSA) Yojana in 2011.
The court sentenced them to three years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 50,000 each.
The Odisha Vigilance will now move to stop Suresh Chandra Das’s pension benefits following his conviction.
