Cheating Job Aspirants

Sambalpur: In a major crackdown, Jujumura police on Sunday arrested Dillip Kumar Sahoo for allegedly cheating six job aspirants of Rs 8.36 lakh under the pretext of securing them Home Guard jobs.

According to Sambalpur Additional SP Ajay Kumar Mishra, the accused had promised the aspirants that he knew officials in the police department and would ensure their selection during the interviews.

“When the Home Guard written examination results were declared, the aspirants’ names were missing from the list. On demanding their money back, the accused refused, prompting them to file a complaint at the Jujumura police station,” he said.

Following the complaint, a First Information Report (FIR) was lodged and the police launched an investigation. During the probe, Dillip was arrested. Additional SP said he had assured the aspirants that he would influence officials during the interviews so that they could secure jobs, but failed to do so.
