Bhubaneswar: The State Guest House in Bhubaneswar witnessed an outpouring of gratitude this evening as more than a thousand people from Jharsuguda, Pipili in Puri district, and Balangir district gathered to thank Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi for announcing special schemes for their regions in the people-oriented 2026–27 State Budget.

Led by Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari and MLA Tankadhar Tripathy, senior citizens, intellectuals and youth representatives from Jharsuguda district arrived in the capital to felicitate the Chief Minister. They expressed their appreciation for the proposal to establish a new university in the district and for the redevelopment of the district headquarters hospital.

Speaking on the occasion, Suresh Pujari said that Jharsuguda, the youngest district in the state, is set to receive its first university after 32 years. He stated that the institution would fulfill the long-standing aspirations of local students seeking access to higher education within their own district.

Similarly, artisans from Pipili, led by Pipili MLA Ashrit Pattnaik, felicitated the Chief Minister for the proposed Chandua market. The artisans said the dedicated marketplace would significantly strengthen the traditional Chandua craft industry, providing better marketing avenues and enhancing their incomes.

From western Odisha, a large number of citizens from Balangir district also came to Bhubaneswar to convey their gratitude. The delegation was led by Health and Family Welfare Minister Mukesh Mahaling and Titlagarh MLA Naveen Kumar Jain. They thanked the Chief Minister for announcing a government engineering college and an agriculture college in the district in the 2026–27 budget.

Mukesh Mahaling noted that the Chief Minister had also made provisions in the 2025–26 budget for opening a nursing college and a dental college in Balangir district. He said that under the Chief Minister’s leadership, development activities across various sectors have gained significant momentum in the district.

With special attention being given to all regions of Odisha in the latest budget, people from coastal belts to western districts have been visiting the capital over the past three days to express their appreciation. The steady stream of delegations at the State Guest House reflects the positive reception of the government’s region-specific development initiatives across the state.
