Sonepur: Sonepur district police intercepted a large consignment of ganja, weighing 330 kg, near Nalini Square in Sonepur town today, marking a significant breakthrough.
Acting on a tip-off, police patrolling team stopped a speeding car coming from Boudh district’s Kantamal area near the Fisheries Office around dawn.
The suspects managed to flee the scene, abandoning the car, which was found to contain the substantial amount of ganja. The seized ganja was weighed in the presence of a magistrate.
A case has been registered at the Town Police Station, and further investigation is underway to identify and apprehend the culprits involved in this illicit activity.
