Bhubaneswar: The Revenue and Disaster Management Department on Monday directed that all pending investigation reports for disciplinary action against Odisha Administrative Service (OAS) – Junior Category – and Odisha Revenue Service (ORS) officers must be submitted on priority, with the deadline set for March 31, 2026.
Additional Chief Secretary Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee, in a letter to all Additional District Magistrates, Chief Development and Executive Officers of District Councils in Puri, Sambalpur, Subarnapur, Kandhamal, and to the Revenue Divisional Commissioners (RDCs) of Cuttack and Sambalpur, emphasised the need for immediate compliance with government instructions.
As per previous directives, investigation officers were required to submit reports within 90 days of their appointment. However, the ACS noted that delays in taking disciplinary action against officers in pending cases had been observed. “All pending cases should be investigated on a priority basis and the reports must be submitted by March 31, 2026,” Dr. Padhee stated.
The department clarified that negligence or misconduct by any investigating officer would be reported to the government, and necessary action would be taken against the officer concerned. District collectors have also been advised to regularly review such cases to ensure strict adherence to government guidelines.
