No Pending Works In Cuttack’s JICA-Funded Sanitation Project: H&UD Minister

Bhubaneswar: There are no pending works under WATCO with regard to the JICA-funded sanitation and drainage projects in Cuttack, Housing and Urban Development Minister Dr Krushna Chandra Mahapatra informed the Odisha Legislative Assembly today.

Responding to a query by MLA Sofia Firdous, the Minister stated that 2.59 km of box drain and 19.956 km of open drain have been constructed, and 362.097 km of sewerage pipeline has been laid. The project, implemented by WATCO in Cuttack Municipal Corporation, has no pending works, the Minister added.

“Hence, the questions regarding delay, requirement of additional funds, sanction of funds, and timeline for completion do not arise”, maintained the Minister.
