Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow warning for several districts in Odisha tomorrow, predicting thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty surface winds (30-40 kmph) at isolated places.
As per IMD prediction, thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and gusty surface wind (wind speed reaching upto 30-40 kmph) is likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Sundergarh, Keonjhar, Balasore and Bhadrak tomorrow.
Besides, the regional weather office has predicted thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and gusty surface wind (wind speed reaching upto 30-40 kmph) in Mayurbhanj, Sundergarh, Keonjhar, Balasore, and Bhadrak on March 13. These districts are under yellow alert.
That apart, thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and gusty surface wind (wind speed reaching upto 30-40 kmph) is likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore and Bhadrak on March 16 as per the IMD prediction.
The IMD has advised residents to take precautions, avoid outdoor activities during storms, and secure loose objects that could be blown away by strong winds.
