Bhubaneswar: A day after resigning from Biju Janata Dal (BJD), senior leader and former Balasore MP Rabindra Kumar Jena today joined the BJP in the presence of State President Manmohan Samal, and other senior leaders.
Jena along with his supporters including Basta block chairperson and Balasore Sadar chairpersons also joined the BJP at the State headquarters in Bhubaneswar. BJP President welcome them to the party with saffron stole, flower bouquet.
Jena had resigned from the primary membership of the BJD on Tuesday.
In a letter to BJD chief Naveen Patnaik, the former president of Balasore district BJD, said he has worked to strengthen the party organisation for several years and served the people of the district as a disciplined member of the party. “But for some personal reasons and circumstances, he quit the regional party.
Soon after his resignation, it was widely speculated that he was likely to join the BJP soon.
