Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Thursday effected a minor reshuffle in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) cadre, appointing several officers to key administrative and departmental positions across the state.
According to a notification issued by the General Administration and Public Grievance (GA&PG) Department on Thursday, Manish Agarwal (IAS, RR-2012), who was serving as Additional Special Relief Commissioner, Odisha with additional charge as Additional Secretary in the Planning and Convergence Department, has been appointed as Registrar, Cooperative Societies, Odisha.
Smruti Ranjan Pradhan (IAS, NSCS-2012), currently Additional Secretary in the Forest, Environment and Climate Change Department, has been posted as Managing Director of the Odisha Small Industries Corporation. He will also continue to hold the additional charge of Chief Executive Officer of Startup Odisha. With his appointment, the additional charge of Startup Odisha CEO held by Rashmita Panda, IAS, will stand terminated from the date Pradhan assumes office.
Siddhartha Das (IAS, NSCS-2012), who was serving as Registrar, Cooperative Societies, has been appointed as Director of Fisheries, Odisha, with headquarters in Cuttack.
Madhusmita Sahoo (IAS, RR-2013), presently Additional Secretary in the Revenue and Disaster Management Department with additional charge as Director of the Revenue Officers’ Training Institute (ROTI), has been appointed Director of Teachers’ Education and the State Council of Educational Research and Training (TE & SCERT), Odisha. She will continue to hold additional charge as Additional Secretary in the School and Mass Education Department.
Upama Kalo (IAS, SCS-2014), Additional Commissioner of Settlement and Consolidation in the office of the Revenue Divisional Commissioner (Northern Division), Sambalpur, has been allowed to continue in additional charge as Secretary to the RDC (ND), Sambalpur.
Lily Kumari Kullu (IAS, SCS-2014), currently Additional Secretary in the Revenue and Disaster Management Department, has been appointed as Additional Secretary to the Government in the Public Enterprises Department.
In another significant change, Somesh Kumar Upadhyay (IAS, RR-2017), Collector and District Magistrate of Malkangiri, has been appointed Director of Textiles and Handlooms, Odisha.
Prathamesh Arvind Rajeshirke (IAS, RR-2021), who was serving as Commissioner of Berhampur Municipal Corporation with additional charge as Vice-Chairman of the Berhampur Development Authority, has been appointed as the new Collector and District Magistrate of Malkangiri.
Meanwhile, Akavaram Sasya Reddy, IAS(RR-2022), Sub-Collector, Jeypore is appointed as Commissioner, Berhampur Municipal Corporation. She is allowed to remain in additional charge of Vice-Chairman, Berhampur Development Authority.
Akshay Pillay, IAS(RR-2022), Sub-Collector, Bonei has been appointed as Additional District Magistrate, Paradeep.
Arugula Sneha, IAS(RR-2022), Sub-Collector, Padampur has been appointed as CDO-cum-EO, Zilla Parishad, Mayurbhanj.
Samir Kumar Jena, IAS(RR-2022), Sub-Collector, Talcher has been appointed as CDO-cum-EO, Zilla Parishad, Ganjam.
Soumyaranjan Pradhan, IAS(RR-2022), Sub-Collector, Rairangpur has been appointed as CDO-cum-EO, Zilla Parishad, Kalahandi.
The reshuffle is part of the state government’s periodic administrative reorganisation aimed at strengthening governance and improving departmental functioning.
