Bhubaneswar: A person was charred to death as a tanker he was driving overturned and caught fire on National Highway 149 near Balipashi Square under Khamar police station in Angul district.
As per reports, the vehicle carrying pitch lost balance and overturned, sparking a fire that engulfed the tanker. As a result, the driver, trapped inside, was burned to death. The tanker was heading from Talcher to Pallahara when the mishap took place.
Upon being informed, fire brigade and police personnel rushed to the accident site, retrieved the driver’s body, and sent it to Pallahara Sub-Divisional Hospital for post-mortem.
The incident is under investigation.
