Bhubaneswar: The body of a woman, who allegedly killed her two infant daughters by throwing them into a well in Sargidihi village under Jarabaga Panchayat in Bamra block of Sambalpur district on Friday, was found near a drain today.
The woman, identified as Sanju Madki, had reportedly been suffering from mental health issues.
According to reports, James Madki of the village and his wife Sanju Madki had two daughters. On Friday afternoon, Sanju left the house with both the children. After some time, she returned home alone, which raised suspicion. When James asked about the children’s whereabouts, Sanju reportedly confessed that she had thrown both daughters into a well.
After listening to Sanju’s confession, James rushed to the well and managed to retrieve the children from the well with the help of villagers. The two girls were immediately taken to Gobindpur Hospital where doctors declared both children dead.
On the other hand, Sanju, had been missing since yesterday, and her hanging body was found near a drain today.
