Bhubaneswar: A married couple was found dead at their residence in Maharudrapur village under Bahanaga block of Balasore district on Sunday.
The deceased were identified as Paresh Majhi and his wife Rashmirekha Parida. The couple had tied the knot around four years ago and are survived by their two-year-old daughter.
According to reports, the couple had an argument on Saturday night over unknown reasons. Rashmirekha’s father alleged that his son-in-law murdered his daughter and later died by suicide by hanging himself.
On receiving information, Gopalpur police reached the spot and recovered the bodies. A scientific team also visited the scene and began an investigation.
Police have registered a case of unnatural death and sent the bodies to the Balasore District Headquarters Hospital for post-mortem.
Further investigation is underway to determine the exact circumstances behind the incident.
