Bhubaneswar: Odisha Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati on Sunday attended the Odisha Parba 2026 in New Delhi and called for a collective effort to build a prosperous, inclusive, and progressive Odisha as the state approaches its centenary in 2036.
Addressing the gathering, the Governor said that 2036 marks not only a historic milestone in Odisha’s journey but also an opportunity for citizens to unite in strengthening the state while preserving its rich cultural heritage.
Highlighting this year’s theme, “Culture and Nature”, Dr. Kambhampati said the festival beautifully reflected Odisha’s unique character, where culture and nature coexist harmoniously. He noted that exhibitions of handicrafts and art, classical and folk dance performances, traditional music, food traditions, and intellectual discussions gave audiences a glimpse of Odisha’s vibrant lifestyle and rich heritage.
The Governor congratulated the Odia community of Delhi for successfully organising the festival and appreciated the efforts of institutions promoting Odisha’s culture, heritage, and identity at both national and global levels. “This festival has become a significant platform to showcase the spirit, consciousness, and cultural prosperity of Odisha in the national capital,” he said.
Emphasising Odisha’s civilisational heritage, Dr. Kambhampati said the state’s identity is deeply rooted in Lord Jagannath, who conveys messages of equality, inclusion, and universal brotherhood. He also acknowledged the contributions of legendary personalities such as Utkal Gourav Madhusudan Das, Utkalamani Gopabandhu Das, Fakir Mohan Senapati, and Gangadhar Meher, who helped shape the intellectual and cultural fabric of Odisha.
The Governor further observed that while Odisha preserves its heritage, it is simultaneously emerging as a hub for education, innovation, and economic opportunities, with immense potential to contribute to India’s growth story.
The festival, he said, brings together art, culture, entrepreneurship, and the global Odia identity, providing a unique platform to celebrate the state’s achievements and envision a stronger future.
