Bhubaneswar: Biju Janata Dal (BJD) president and Leader of the Opposition, Naveen Patnaik, on Monday congratulated Dr. Santrupt Misra for his victory in the Rajya Sabha elections representing the party.
Taking to X, Patnaik also praised Dr. Datteswar Hota, the common candidate of the BJD-Congress-CPI(M) alliance, for contesting the elections with integrity, dedication, and adherence to high ideals.
“Although the result did not go in our favor due to the actions of a few self-interested leaders, our struggle will continue, guided by the ideals of Biju Babu,” he stated.
Patnaik reaffirmed the party’s commitment to its core principles, emphasising that public welfare and ethical politics would remain central to BJD’s work in the state.
