Notorious Criminal Tima Jhankar Injured In Police Encounter

Sambalpur: Veteran hardcore criminal Tima Jhankar alias Dhaneswar Jhankar, involved in over 41 cases across Odisha, was injured in a police encounter early morning today.

Jhankar, wanted for dacoity, robbery, and aluminium conductor wire theft, was intercepted by Naktideul police station in Dumchhali forest area under Rairakhol police station limits.

Jhankar and three associates opened fire on the police team, who retaliated in self-defence, injuring Jhankar’s right leg. His associates were apprehended, and police seized a pistol, live ammunition, a Bolero, wire cutter, and tools used for cutting power transmission wires. Jhankar was shifted to Sub-Divisional Hospital, Rairakhol for treatment. Investigation is underway
