Bhubaneswar: The state government has launched a rice ATM in Bhubaneswar’s Mancheswar area to streamline the distribution of ration rice to beneficiaries, informed Food Supplies & Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra.
Minister’s reply came in response to a query raised by MLA Tara Prasad Bahinipati.
The Minister informed that the first rice ATM, supported by the World Food Programme, has been operational at Bhubaneswar’s Mancheswar area since August 2024 and has served 20,217 beneficiaries, distributing 3,805 quintals 14 kg of rice so far.
Plans are underway to set up one rice ATM each in Jharsuguda, Nabarangapur, Keonjhar and Dhenkanal districts.
