Bhubaneswar: The state has earned Rs 4,708 crore from exporting 91930 metric tonnes of seafood in 2024-25, according to Minister of State of Fisheries and Animal Resources Development Gokula Nanda Mallik.
Replying to a query raised by MLA Tara Prasad Bahinipati, the Minister informed that the state earned Rs 8664 crore revenue from fish export in the past two years. In 2024-25, Odisha produced 11.92 lakh metric tonnes of fish.
The export was mainly through Paradip, Kolkata, Visakhapatnam port, and Bhubaneswar airport. The exported seafood includes shrimp, fish, squid, and catfish, primarily to the USA, China, Japan, European countries, and Southeast Asia, stated the Minister.
