193 Food Processing Units Operational In Odisha: MSME Minister

Bhubaneswar: As many as 7,52,379 MSMEs were registered in Odisha till 2023-24. As of March 2025, 6,36,763 MSMEs are operational, providing employment to 48,56,612 people, informed MSME Minister Gokulananda Mallik.

Minister’s reply came in response to a petition filed by MLA Laxman Munda seeking answer on number of food processing unit in Odisha.

A total of 7,52,379 MSMEs were registered according to Udyam registration Portal till 2023-24. Data on units closed will be available after the Industrial Census.

According to the AIM 2.0 (Administrative of Incentives for MSMEs & Large Industries) portal data, there are currently 193 food processing units operating in the state. The state government has received 677 proposals for food processing units under ALM 2.0 portal.
