Bargarh: As the Middle East conflict rages on, Odisha, like the rest of India, is grappling with an LPG crisis. The Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Department is taking stern action against black marketers, with a recent raid in Bargarh district yielding results.
A team led by Additional Supply Officer Byomkesh Majhi raided the home of businessman Prashant Pradhan in Kulunda village, seizing 12 domestic gas cylinders and 283 consumer gas accounts, including 160 Ujjwala Yojana accounts. The raiding team is investigating the source of these cylinders and accounts.
The district administration has formed a committee to review LPG, petrol, and diesel supply and distribution, and a task force to prevent black marketing. A helpline number has been issued for public assistance.
