Dhenkanal: A college student was found brutally murdered in Saruali village forest under Kamakhyanagar police limits in Dhenkanal district on Thursday.
The victim, identified as Ankita Priyadarshini Barik from Marthapur village, was a first-year student at Kamakhyanagar Women’s College.
Ankita had appeared for an examination at the college yesterday and hadn’t returned home since. Her blood-stained body was found in forest today, with her college bag nearby. Police suspect foul play, possibly related to a love affair, and are investigating the case.
The incident has sparked concerns of rape and murder, though the exact circumstances will be determined after the post-mortem report and forensic analysis.
