Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today approved the regularization of Junior Teachers (Schematic) who were serving on a contractual basis. The regularisation covers those appointed during the 2023-24 academic year, benefiting more than 13,000 such teachers across the state.
The decision fulfills an earlier promise made by the Chief Minister to provide job security and stability to these educators. As per the order, the services of these teachers stand regularized with effect from their original date of joining.
However, they will receive notional benefits from the date of joining up to December 31, 2025. Full salary, allowances, and other perks equivalent to regular government employees will be disbursed starting January 1, 2026.
The move is seen as a significant step towards strengthening primary education in Odisha, aligning with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, and addressing long-standing demands of contractual teachers for permanent status.
