Bhubaneswar: In a fresh disciplinary action to maintain party discipline, the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has suspended 10 prominent leaders from its youth and student wings with immediate effect, citing their alleged involvement in anti-party activities.
The suspensions, announced through an official party order, affect key functionaries of the Biju Yuva Janata Dal (BYJD) — the BJD’s youth wing — and the Biju Chhatra Janata Dal (BCJD) — the student wing.
The suspended leaders are: Ashok Mishra, General Secretary (BYJD), Sovan Mohanty, General Secretary (BYJD), Anupam Satapathy, General Secretary (BYJD), Sujit Paltasingh, Secretary General (BCJD), Ranjit Das, Vice President (BCJD), Abinash Mohanty, Vice President (BCJD), Debiprasad Lenka, Vice President (BCJD), Ashit Ranjan Das, Vice President (BCJD), Sidhartha Swain, Vice President (BCJD), Deboprasad Routray, General Secretary (BCJD)
The order states: “The following youth and student leaders of the Biju Janata Dal are hereby suspended from the party with immediate effect for their involvement in anti-party activities.”
The BJD leadership has emphasized zero tolerance for actions that undermine party unity, with senior leaders indicating that further strict measures could follow if needed.
