Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued warnings for several Odisha districts ahead of thunderstorms expected tomorrow.
An orange warning has been issued for Mayurbhanj and Balasore, where isolated thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds (50-60 kmph) are likely.
A yellow warning (Be Aware) has been issued for Sundergarh, Keonjhar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Koraput, Nabarangapur, and Malkangiri, where isolated thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) are expected.
As per IMD prediction for March 23, thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and gusty surface wind (wind speed reaching upto 30-40 kmph) is likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar. These districts have been issued yellow warnings.
