Bhubaneswar: In a shocking incident, a person brutally killed his 80-year-old father over a dispute of Rs 400 at Ladadihi village in Mayurbhanj district’s Morada police station area.
As per reports, the victim, Govind Mardi, was beaten to death with a bamboo stick by his son Madhu Mardi while he was asleep. Madhu, allegedly under the influence of liquor, had demanded Rs 400 from his father, which he had earned by selling drumsticks. When Govind refused, Madhu attacked him, resulting in his death.
Upon being informed, Chitrada outpost police detained Madhu and are investigating the case.
Family members revealed that Madhu had a history of taking money from his father forcefully.
