Bhubaneswar: Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi called on Odisha Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati at Lok Bhavan on Friday during his official visit to the state.
The Governor congratulated General Dwivedi and the Indian Army for the successful execution of Operation Sindoor, praising the force’s unwavering dedication and exemplary service to the nation.
Earlier in the day, General Dwivedi arrived in Bhubaneswar aboard a special aircraft of the Indian Air Force at Biju Patnaik International Airport. He proceeded under tight security arrangements to the 120 Battalion, where he is scheduled to stay overnight and attend an official dinner.
On Saturday, the Army Chief will travel to Puri to offer prayers at the Jagannath Temple. He will subsequently visit Gopalpur to review activities at the Army Air Defence College.
During his visit to the premier training institution, General Dwivedi will assess ongoing training arrangements and interact with serving officers and ex-servicemen. A live firing demonstration has also been scheduled at the Field Firing Range as part of the visit.
The Army Chief is expected to conclude his Odisha tour and return to Delhi on March 29.
