Puri: A youth was brutally murdered in the Penthakata area under the jurisdiction of Penthakata Marine Police Station in Puri district on Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as Tapu Nayak, a resident of the Badasankha area of Baliupara slum.
According to preliminary reports, Nayak had gone to meet a female acquaintance in the Penthakata area on Friday night. His body was discovered on Saturday morning under suspicious circumstances. Police suspect that he was attacked with a sharp weapon, leading to his death.
On receiving information, personnel from the Penthakata Marine Police Station rushed to the spot, recovered the body, and initiated an investigation
