Bhubaneswar: The Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), Odisha, concluded the Plus II examinations on Saturday. The results are expected to be announced by May 12, officials said.
This year, a total of 4,01,623 students had registered across the Arts, Science, Commerce, and Vocational streams. Of them, 3,96,592 candidates appeared for the exams, while around 5,031 students remained absent, according to the CHSE Controller of Examinations.
The evaluation of answer scripts will begin on April 2 and will be conducted in two phases — from April 2 to April 13, and April 15 to April 28 — through both offline and online modes.
Around 16,000 teachers will be involved in the evaluation process, with 8,000 teachers assigned to each phase. A total of 151 evaluation centres are being set up across the state to assess nearly 25 lakh answer scripts.
CHSE officials assured that strict security arrangements will be in place at all centres. Special provisions, including drinking water and other basic facilities, will be provided for teachers in view of the prevailing heat conditions.
A senior CHSE official said the board aims to complete the evaluation by the end of April and declare the results within 40 to 45 days.
