Bhubaneswar: The Rukuna Ratha Yatra of Lord Lingaraj has begun its concluding chapter as Lord Lingaraj’s moving deities – Chandrasekhar, Dola Govind, and Devi Durga – prepare to return to the Lingaraj Temple from Rameswar Temple today.
The deities will bid farewell to their Lord Rameswar and embark on their journey back to the temple, marking the end of their brief sojourn.
According to tradition, the deities had visited Rameswar Temple to spend a few days with their friend Rameswar, engaging in spiritual conversations and savouring delicious offerings. Now, it’s time for them to return to their abode, leaving behind memories of their visit. The final darshan at Rameswar Temple will take place from 6 am to 8 am, after which the deities will begin their journey back to the Lingaraj Temple. The procession will include various rituals, offerings, and stops along the way, including Asura Kiri and different Niyoga points, for Pana offerings.The administration has made necessary arrangements to ensure a smooth and safe event, with security personnel deployed at various points along the route. Thousands of devotees are expected to participate in the procession and witness the grand spectacle.
The deities are expected to return to the temple by afternoon, concluding the Rukuna Ratha Yatra festivities. The event is a testament to the rich cultural heritage and spiritual traditions of Odisha, showcasing the deep bond between devotees and their beloved deities.
