Bhubaneswar: A shocking incident of gang-rape has rocked the capital city, with two ambulance drivers arrested for allegedly raping a woman who had sought a lift to the station.
According to report, the victim, a resident of West Bengal, had come Bhubaneswar to drop her relative at AIIMS for treatment. After dropping them off, she was heading back and was waiting for an auto-rickshaw to the station. Two ambulance drivers, seeing her alone, offered her a lift, claiming they’d drop her at the station. Instead, they took her to a nearby forest and gang-raped her under Tamando police limits.
Based on the victim’s complaint, Tamando police launched an investigation and arrested the accused, Bichitra Sahu and Narayan Swain from Nayagarh, who were employees of the private ambulance service. Bhubaneswar DCP confirmed the arrest.
