Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department has issued a nowcast “Yellow” warning for parts of Odisha, forecasting light to moderate rain or thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds on Sunday night.
According to the Meteorological Centre Bhubaneswar, such weather conditions are very likely to occur at one or two places in Nabarangpur, Koraput and Balasore districts over the next three hours from 9:00 PM IST.
Wind speeds are expected to range between 30 and 40 kmph during the period, the advisory said.
The weather office has cautioned residents to remain alert for any sudden deterioration in weather conditions and advised them to be prepared to move to safer locations to avoid lightning strikes.
A “Yellow” alert indicates the need to stay aware and monitor developments, as localized weather disturbances may pose potential risks.
