Bhubaneswar: In the last three years, a total of 264 elephants have died in the state, out of which 132 have died due to natural causes and 132 due to unnatural causes, according to Ganesh Ram Singh Khuntia, Minister of State for Forest, Environment & Climate Change.
Minister’s reply came in response to a question raised by MLA Padma Lochan Panda.
According to the Minister, 4 tigers, 25 leopards, and 1426 other wild animals have died, with 447 of these deaths attributed to poaching.
