Bhubaneswar: The President of India has approved the prestigious Police Colour award for Odisha Police, marking a historic recognition of distinguished service.
The Ministry of Home Affairs conveyed the decision to the Chief Secretary of Odisha, confirming approval of the proposal submitted by the state government and Odisha Police Headquarters.
It is pertinent to mention that the Police Colour award is India’s highest honour for a police force, recognising exceptional dedication, discipline, and law enforcement achievements. Odisha Police earned this distinction after decades of resilient service, modernisation, and success in tackling Maoist insurgency, cybercrime, and narcotics control.
The award highlights Odisha Police’s commitment to ‘Service and Security’ and reflects its contributions to national security and citizen safety. The recognition comes as Odisha Police celebrates its 91st Foundation Day, boosting morale and inspiring personnel to continue their mission with renewed determination.
