Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi described Biju Patnaik as one who “epitomises strength, courage and an unwavering commitment to nation building”.
In a letter to Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi extending greetings on Odisha Divas, Modi wrote, “This is the soil that nurtured the great Biju Patnaik, whose life epitomises strength, courage, and an unwavering commitment to nation building. Biju Babu’s multi-faceted persona inspires us all,” the Prime Minister wrote in his four-page letter to the Chief Minister.
In the letter, Modi paid glowing tributes to several legendary figures from Odisha, including Maharaj Krushna Chandra Gajapati Narayan Deo, Fakir Mohan Senapati, Buxi Jagabandhu, Veer Surendra Sai, Gangadhar Meher, Madhusudan Das, Harekrushna Mahtab, Malati Choudhury, Sarala Devi, Parbati Giri, and Biju Patnaik.
He noted that these iconic personalities, along with countless others from the state, have left an indelible mark on the nation.
The mention of Biju Patnaik holds special significance in light of the recent controversial remarks made by BJP MP Nishikant Dubey, which sparked widespread outrage across the country
