Bhubaneswar: The self-enumeration facility for Census 2027 was launched in Odisha, with Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati completing his online self-enumeration and urging citizens to follow suit. In a video message, he emphasized the importance of participation to ensure every household is counted.
“This Census is crucial for planning and development. I urge everyone to submit their information through the self-enumeration portal (https:e.census.gov.in/) by April 15,” he said.
“On the commencement of Census 2027, I extend my greetings to the people of Odisha. As the first citizen of Odisha, I have fulfilled my duty by completing my self-enumeration and I urge each one of you to do the same,” the governor said in a video message.
“Therefore, your participation in the house listing phase will ensure that every household is counted and represented. Let’s all come together to make this Census accurate, inclusive and successful,” he said.
The self-enumeration portal is open till April 15, and citizens can submit their data online. Enumerators will verify the information during field visits.
The census house listing operations will begin on April 16 and continue till May 15, with over 1 lakh enumerators and 17,282 supervisors collecting data. This is India’s first digital census, with a provision for self-enumeration.
