Bhubaneswar: Nandankanan Zoological Park has recorded its highest-ever revenue and visitor footfall in the financial year 2025–26, marking a significant milestone for one of India’s prominent zoological parks.
According to official sources, the zoo generated a total revenue of ₹26.31 crore during the period. This includes ₹16.27 crore earned from entry tickets, parking fees, camera charges and other visitor services. Revenue from outsourced facilities contributed ₹9.81 crore, while the ‘Adopt an Animal’ initiative added ₹0.23 crore to the overall earnings.
The park also witnessed an unprecedented footfall of 39,76,615 visitors over the year. Of these, 37,96,341 people visited the zoological park, while 1,80,274 explored the adjoining State Botanical Garden.
The visitor profile comprised 33,48,933 adults, 6,26,646 children, and 1,036 foreign nationals, reflecting the park’s growing popularity among both domestic and international tourists.
The record-breaking performance underscores Nandankanan’s rising prominence as a major wildlife tourism destination, supported by improved visitor amenities, conservation initiatives, and diversified revenue streams.
