Bhubaneswar: The School and Mass Education Department of Odisha has issued a notification for the regularisation of Junior Teachers (Schematic) engaged in Primary and Upper Primary Schools across the state.
The notification states that in supersession of all previous resolutions and guidelines issued in this regard, the Government after careful consideration has decided to regularise the services of Junior Teachers (Schematic) who were engaged during the year 2023-24 through the due recruitment process and are continuing in service.
These teachers will now be absorbed as Assistant Teachers in Level-V(A) of the Elementary Cadre. As per the notification, such Junior Teachers (Schematic) shall be deemed to have been regularised with effect from the date of their respective joining. They shall be allowed notional service benefits up to 31 December 2025.
They will be entitled to draw regular pay and salary along with other admissible service benefits of Assistant Teachers in Level-V(A) with effect from 01 January 2026.This move is expected to provide long-awaited job security and stability to thousands of contractual teachers working in elementary schools.
The decision will benefit a large number of teachers who were appointed on a schematic basis during 2023-24 and have been serving continuously since then.
