Puri: A youth allegedly brandishing a pistol and firing blank shots has triggered widespread concern in Odisha’s Puri district after multiple videos of the act went viral on social media.
In the clips circulating online, the youth is seen sitting on a motorcycle while holding a pistol and, in some instances, firing blank shots. In other visuals, he appears to have kept the firearm tucked into his pocket while creating social media reels. The videos were reportedly uploaded from an account named “Shridhar X Villain.”
According to sources, the youth has been identified as a resident of Harachandi Sahi in Puri. However, it remains unclear how he procured the firearm, raising serious questions about possible illegal possession of weapons.
The incident has sparked public outrage, with many expressing concern over the blatant display of firearms on social media and its potential threat to public safety and law and order.
Locals and netizens have demanded immediate police action, including the arrest of the युवक, seizure of the weapon, and a thorough investigation into the matter.
Police are yet to issue an official statement regarding the viral videos.
