Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday appealed to citizens to actively cooperate with the upcoming Census exercise, with house listing operations scheduled to commence from April 16 across the state.
In a video message, the Chief Minister urged people to participate in the process, including the ongoing self-enumeration drive being conducted ahead of the door-to-door survey.
“I have completed my self-enumeration. You too should do it. If you have not yet submitted your information, please do so and cooperate in the Census,” he said.
Majhi informed that the Census exercise is being carried out in coordination with the Directorate of Census in Odisha, the Ministry of Home Affairs, and the state’s Revenue and Disaster Management Department.
According to the Chief Minister, the house listing and housing census will be conducted in all 30 districts of Odisha from April 16 to May 15. During this period, trained enumerators and supervisors will visit households to collect data.
He added that the self-enumeration process is currently underway from April 1 to April 15 through an online portal, allowing citizens to submit their details in advance.
Highlighting the importance of the exercise, Majhi said that the data collected would play a crucial role in planning and implementation of development programmes at both the state and national levels.
He urged citizens to provide accurate information and extend full cooperation to ensure the success of the Census exercise.
