Bhadrak: Two persons were killed while another sustained critical injuries in a horrific head-on collision between a tractor and a bike near Bhandaripada under Dhamnagar police limits in Bhadrak district.
According to reports, the accident occurred when a tractor was entering the village and a bike coming from the opposite direction collided with forcefully. The impact was so severe that all three persons travelling in the bike were thrown off and fell on the road. The injured were immediately rushed to a nearby medical facility. However, two of them were declared dead by doctors on arrival, while the third person is battling for his life.
The deceased have been identified as Sheikh Arman and Sheikh Ajmer. The injured person is Sheikh Sabir, who was first given primary treatment at Bhadrak District Headquarters Hospital and later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack for advanced treatment.
Tension prevailed at the accident site and vehicular movement on the road was completely halted. The situation was brought under control only after police intervened and pacified the agitated locals.
Police have registered a case and are investigating the exact cause of the collision.
