Bhubaneswar: The Odisha School Education Programme Authority (OSEPA) has directed that school uniforms and related items must be distributed to all students from Shishu Vatika (pre-school) to Class 10 across the state by April 27.
In a significant move, OSEPA has issued special guidelines and sent letters to all District Education Officers (DEOs) and District Project Coordinators, outlining detailed instructions on the preparation and distribution of uniforms. Besides, emphasis has been placed on maintaining the quality of the clothing.
The School and Mass Education Department had earlier instructed that uniforms should be provided to students before the summer vacation begins. To ensure compliance, district-level committees have been asked to closely monitor the entire process.
For the academic year 2026-27, students from Shishu Vatika to Class X will receive school uniforms, house dresses, shoes, and socks. Additionally, children from Shishu Vatika to Class VIII will be provided with identity cards and caps. The responsibility for stitching uniforms will continue to be given to women Self-Help Groups (SHGs), MSEs, School Management Committees (SMCs), SMDCs, and VMDCs as before. District-level committees will supervise the uniform distribution work. Key instructions include preparing separate lists of boys and girls who have taken admission for 2026-27.
Going by the letter issued by the OSEPA, all school data must reach the Block Education Officer by April 10. The work orders of all agencies responsible for uniform preparation will be reviewed by April 12. Uniform distribution must be completed by April 27. Quality checking of the uniforms will be done by April 30. The entire uniform distribution process must be finished by May 2, and a detailed report regarding the same must be submitted to the OSEPA office by this date.
