Bhubaneswar: The Chaiti Parba of Maa Tarini commenced today with traditional rituals and grandeur. The Goddess is giving darshan in her Suna Besha (Golden Attire).
As per the tradition, Maa Tarini was given a holy bath (Mahasnana) early this morning, followed by decoration with vermilion and majestic Bada Singhara Besha. She is worshipped with Shodasha Upachara (16 types of offerings) and will bless devotees in golden attire for the next seven days.
However, the temple administration has made arrangements for smooth darshan, including barricades. The festival, observed since 1937 by the Maa Tarini Temple Trust Board, attracts thousands of devotees daily. Cultural programmes featuring renowned artists are being held on the temple premises.
