Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow warning for hot and humid conditions across several districts of Odisha for the next six days.
According to the special bulletin: hot and humid conditions are very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Jajpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Gajapati, and Ganjam on April 11 and April 12.
For April 13 & April 14, IMD prediction reads: “Heat wave conditions are very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Balangir, Bargarh, and Sambalpur. Besides, hot and humid condition very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Jajpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Gajapati, and Ganjam
On April 15 and April 16, hot and humid conditions are expected to persist at one or two places over the same 11 districts such as Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Jajpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Gajapati, and Ganjam.
The IMD has advised people to remain cautious, especially during peak daytime hours. Hot and humid weather can cause discomfort, dehydration, and increase the risk of heat-related illnesses.
Farmers and labourers working in open fields are advised to schedule heavy work during early morning or late evening hours.
