Bhubaneswar: Minister of Revenue and Disaster Management, Suresh Pujari, conducted a detailed review of various developmental works in the Brajrajnagar urban area. During the meeting, he directed officials to complete all 240 ongoing under-construction projects within the next six months. He also instructed the Executive Officer to take strict action against contractors or companies showing negligence or slow progress.
The Minister specifically reviewed the progress of key projects, including the construction of a supermarket, beautification of the river bank, development around the Chandi Temple, and the establishment of a library. Discussions also focused on expediting the construction of the Kalyan Mandap, Auditorium, and Atal Bus Stand.
Particular attention was given to the new ring road and river embankment project along the banks of the Ib River. Minister Pujari held discussions with Principal Secretary of the Water Resources Department, Shubha Sharma, on these initiatives. Additionally, the proposal for constructing a new bridge and approach road near Kutabga on the Ib River was discussed, with the Minister directing officials to speed up the survey work.
In view of the ongoing summer season, the Minister emphasized ensuring 24-hour water supply in Brajrajnagar and Belpahar urban areas. He held discussions with the Managing Director of WATCO and directed the Executive Officer to address water supply issues in affected areas on priority.
Pujari further instructed the Executive Officer to initiate the preparation of the draft budget for the financial year 2026-27 at the earliest, after incorporating public feedback. He stressed the need to accelerate the construction and renovation of educational institutions and give them top priority. The Minister also emphasized engaging local people in all developmental projects to generate employment and promote self-reliance among them.
The review meeting was attended by Principal Secretary, Water Resources Department, Smt. Shubha Sharma; Director, Municipal Administration, Arindam Dakua; Personal Secretary to the Revenue Minister, Pradeep Kumar Sahu; Chairman, Brajrajnagar Municipal Council, Gopal Sitani; the Executive Officer; and other senior officials.
Jharsuguda Collector Kunal Motiram Chavan, District Urban Project Director, Additional District Magistrate, and other senior district officers joined the meeting through virtual mode.
