New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders on Tuesday lambasted Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge for purportedly calling Prime Minister Narendra Modi a “terrorist”, during a press conference in Tamil Nadu ahead of the April 23 Assembly election.
Criticising the Congress, BJP national spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari called it, an “urban Naxal party”.
He mentioned that previously, too, remarks like “poisonous snake” have been used for the Prime Minister.
Issuing a video statement, Bhandari alleged, “This proves that the remote control of Congress lies with anti-national forces.”
He blamed Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi for “seeking instructions from anti-national forces”.
“LoP Gandhi then makes Congress workers threaten PM Modi or makes the party President use inappropriate language for the Prime Minister,” Bhandari said.
He also accused the Congress of being unable to digest the country’s progress under the able leadership of PM Modi.
“The statement of Mallikarjun Kharge proves that the party is Urban Naxal Congress,” he reiterated.
BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh also shared a video where he said that use of a “heinous” word like terrorist for PM Modi, “reflects the mental bankruptcy of the Congress party”.
He accused Congress leaders to have forgotten the democratic principles.
“It is the party’s conspiracy to humiliate the country,” he added.
BJP MP Praveen Khandelwal termed insult for PM Modi as a “sinful act”.
“In the garb of opposing an ideology, Mallikarjun Kharge has forgotten about basic morality,” he told IANS.
BJP leader Gourav Vallabh asserted that the remarks made by the Congress President is not a mistake but a “well thought plan”.
He accused LoP Gandhi of providing a “script” to the Congress President.
“This is because Kharge and Rahul Gandhi both are similar. Both of them are taking forward the model of dynasty politics, therefore they have a problem with a common man becoming the Prime Minister for the third time,” Vallabh said.
Referring to LoP Gandhi carrying a pocket-book edition of the Constitution at various events, he said, “Is it mentioned in the Constitution to use inappropriate language for the elected Prime Minister?”
“They will not get elected to power in this manner,” Vallabh asserted.
