Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a nowcast warning forecasting thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, gusty winds reaching 30–40 kmph, and light to moderate rainfall at isolated places over nine districts of Odisha within the next three hours.
As per the nowcast issued at 1:45 pm, such weather conditions are very likely to occur at one or two places in Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Nuapada, Bolangir, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj districts.
The IMD has advised residents to remain alert and monitor weather updates closely, warning of possible deterioration in conditions. People have also been urged to move to safer locations and take necessary precautions to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
