Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a nowcast warning predicting thunderstorms activity over several districts of Odisha in next three hours.
According to the nowcast warning issued at 2 pm on Friday, thunderstorms accompanied with lightning, gusty winds reaching 30-40 kmph, and light to moderate rain is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Kandhamal , Nabarangapur, Kalahandi, and Nuapada within the next three hours.
The IMD has advised people in these districts to remain vigilant and keep a close watch on the weather for any worsening conditions.
Residents have been urged to move to safer places immediately if thunderstorm activity intensifies, especially to protect themselves from the risk of lightning strikes.
